New York emcee Gannon Nwar releases his debut project, Live From Public Housing. The 12 track project from Gannon embodies that class NY sound with a wavy twenty- eighteen twist. Gannon does an excellent job of packing powerful social commentary in his word play and story telling. A prime example of this is the albums second track "Missing in Action," the classic narrative of a young black male searching for direction in the world; the infamous Fresh Prince audio of Will's words with his father will hit you right in the feels and brings the track around full circle. But don't get it twisted, not only does Gannon come with the conscious flow, but tracks like "MMM"and "To Follow Or Lead" show that Gannon knows how turn things up on the mic with gritty street anthems. Front to back Live From Public Housing is an amazing body of work. Be sure to peep this latest release out, and keep an eye on Gannon Nwar, the sky is the limit for this emcee.
