Coming off of the succuess of the No Question EP with Apollo Brown earlier in the summer, Locksmith returns with his fourth studio album, Ali. In classic Locksmith fashion, this 15 track project is filled with hard hitting bars loaded with captivating social commentary. Locksmith has one of the more interesting world views in hip hop with a background of Persian and African-American descent. In an interview with hiphopdx, Locksmith states, “I wanted to talk about the struggles my family had here in America: my father, an Iranian immigrant, and my mother, a black woman from the south, raising a young man in California and how that experience shaped my view on life. I even included my dad on the album!” With guest features from Murs, Jarren Benton and Jedi Mind Tricks member Vinnie Paz, Locksmith closes out the 2018 season with an amazing body of work.
